Katrine has been singin g her native Scottish music for as long as she can remember.
A classically trained soprano. She spent much of her time in Edinburgh singing Scottish songs in folk clubs. Since moving to the US, has continued to pursue her musical interests. After spending many years as a development economist, working particularly on African countries, she left to pursue what has always been her passion: to sing. She has issued a CD of classical songs: A Celebration of Song, and a CD.of Ae Fond Kiss,featur songs and music of Scotland.
Her latest CD: Songs of Celtic Myths, was released in 2008, and consists of songs about celtic myths, especially about sea creatures such as mermaids, sea-kelpies, and sea witches. She has given concerts in the US and Canada and has also performed in several African countries, working with local musicians on integrating African and Celtic music. She has also given concerts in Brazil, working with local musicians. Upcoming concerts are planned in the US, Canada, and Brazil.

Concert of Scottish Song at On Feb. 15th, 2009 at 4 pm at Carderock Springs Hall, 8200 Hamilton Springs Court, Bethesda, MD 20817. Katrine will be performing with outstanding Celtic musicians Zan McLeod (guitar, bouzouki, mandolin), Billy McComiskey (accordion) and Robert Spates (fiddle). Songs from Katrine's new CD "Songs of Celtic Myths" will be featured, together with music from her previous CD "Ae Fond Kiss" and lots of spirited Celtic instrumental music.
